Hi there, nice to meet you!
I’m Nagi, and RecipeTin Eats is my corner of the internet!
I’m the voice, cook and eater behind RecipeTin Eats. I create recipes, take photos of them, write them up and make recipe tutorial videos. Oh, and I have a food bank – RecipeTin Meals – and I wrote a cookbook too!

I live in beautiful Sydney, Australia, and have an unhealthy obsession with all things food and my dog Dozer, an abnormally large and very cheeky golden retriever.
When I say he’s “abnormally large”, I mean it! Proof:

(OK, possibly I am a little on the short side too….😂)
My recipes
My website reflects my philosophy on food and cooking – fast, creative, clever and fresh.
That’s fast meals for busy weeknights.
Creative new ideas and fresh takes on favourites to shortcut preparation, cut down on cost and create food with style.
Clever cooking so that you don’t sacrifice taste just because you’re short on time and on a budget. I’ll show you how to get gourmet flavours out of budget ingredients and how you can get organised so it’s a breeze to serve up nourishing meals to your family that will knock their socks off.
And fresh meals that are made from scratch. I don’t use store bought packet mixes or canned soup.

My recipes are cost conscious, made using everyday ingredients and (mostly) pretty healthy. I don’t use a tub of cream or blocks of cream cheese in every sauce, and I only deep fry when I really think it’s worth it.
But, sometimes I feel the need to unleash the demon within. 🙂

OK, maybe a little more than sometimes……

A bit about me …
Born in Japan, raised in Sydney, Australia, I’ve travelled the world from Europe to the Middle East, across Asia and America.
In a previous life, I worked in corporate finance. Though I thoroughly enjoyed my “first” career, I wanted to pursue a future where my passion really lies – food. 🙂
Today, I’m extremely fortunate to be able to say that I make a living doing what I truly love – creating and sharing my favourite recipes with people from all over the world.
Growing up, budget was tight and even though my mother worked full time, we dined like royalty because she was so creative in the kitchen. And this is why I know it’s possible to make great, fresh food even if you’re short on time and on a budget.

The recipes on my blog draws on influences from my travels, my ever evolving fascination with how just a few simple ingredients can transform into something that tastes so amazing, and learning genius tricks from the masters of the world.
I want to show you how to make vibrant recipes made with everyday ingredients, spanning cuisines from around the world as well as classic comforts. Delicious recipes with the “wow” factor that are simple to make, cost effective and can often be prepared ahead.
I hope you find something on here to your taste! – Nagi x

What you will find on RecipeTin Eats
Seriously tasty simple recipes made using everyday ingredients. I don’t shop at gourmet stores.
Exciting New Ideas for Fast Midweek Meals.
Takeout favourites that truly taste like what you get at restaurants.
Easy recipes from around the world.
Can’t-Live-Without Classics. 🙂
Salads with oomph! Because if I’m having a salad as a meal, it’s got to be something special!
Cooking for a crowd. I like to entertain. So many of my recipes are convenient for cooking for a crowd, whether it be easy to make in large volumes, or make ahead.
Tried and tested recipes. I take great care to ensure my recipes work and are written concisely. I also add notes to help with substitutions (where possible) and explanations for things that I think may not be familiar to everyone.

What you won’t find on my blog
I don’t follow trends for the sake of it. I only share recipes I truly love. There will never be a cauliflower crust pizza on my blog.
I do not sacrifice taste just for the sake of reducing calories (or following a trend). My healthy recipes are accidentally healthy.
Food that looks pretty but tastes blah. Never, ever, ever!
Recipes with shortcuts that compromise on flavour. I will cheat at every opportunity. So long as it doesn’t compromise on flavour.

Difference in measures between countries
DID YOU KNOW….? Cups, tablespoons and teaspoon sizes differ between countries. For the vast majority of my recipes, the difference is not enough to affect the recipes – this mostly holds true for savoury recipes.
However, for baking recipes like cakes, slices, delicate desserts and especially cookies, the slight difference between measurements does matter.
So I ensure that my baking recipes are tested and written so that they will work for cooks in different countries. This also applies to any savoury recipes that are affected as well.

Oh – and I have a food bank!
During the height of the pandemic in 2021 when there was increased food insecurity in my community, I started my food bank, RecipeTin Meals, where we make homemade meals which are donated to the vulnerable.
I have 3 full time chefs who work in the kitchen making meals 5 days a week. Many of the recipes we use are from my website!
To learn more about RecipeTin Meals, pop over here. ❤️

Finally … Don’t be shy, say “Hi”!
Drop me an email and say hi! Due to the sheer number of messages I receive, I sadly cannot respond to every one. However I do my very best to reply where I can (unless you’re SPAM!). One thing I can assure you is that I will see your message! You can contact me here.

I made my family the thai red chicken curry last night. I used a tin of red curry paste and added your “extras” to it. The meal came beautifully. The family loved it. It looked gorgeous too.
I have a lot of hesitation in cooking Asian meals, but I will definitely try more of yours as you demystified it for me a bit.
Thank you, Nagi!!
I see you have got a new kitchen, if it’s not to rude to ask I would love to see a floor plan. Also neat color 🙂
Where ans and how can i buy your book..looking everywhere for it. Cheers Joanne Pitt
Dear Nagi & Dozer
TinEats has been my go-to site when looking for a recipe for a while. Today I chose to read all about you and Dozer. I am so impressed. Your stories and recipes are wonderful and bring me joy and are very helpful. Now I can declutter a whole shelf of ‘favourite recipes’, ‘best recipes’, must- have cookbooks, some hardly opened, and spend more time with my smaller ‘dozers’.
Thank you and scrumptious wishes xx
Hey Nagi,
Your Recipes are Amazing!!
I know because I tried the chocolate chip muffin recipe!
Delicious!
I’m so happy I found your website! I love to cook also.
I made lunch for all my workmates today and I used 4 of your recipes as my guide in the kitchen. I say guide because I rarely use a recipe as is. I taste and adjust, taste and adjust. I made the Chicken enchiladas, Beef enchiladas, Queso dip and your cornbread souffle. Along with my own mex rice and refried bean recipes to round the meal out. Everyone raved about how good it all was and I wanted to say thank you.

What are the above? They are just a sample of Kate Middleton’s troll channels which promote herself and run down her ‘enemies’.
She uses the channels to amass a huge army to fight for her. She has other stuffs on IG, Facebook, X as well. Investigate yourselves.
Kate Middleton ‘s family was in business owning an online company called Party Pieces since the 80s. They are extremely well-versed in digital stuffs.
Kate Middleton has celebrated her success of becoming a royal figure even to this day. Please watch her celebratory video she posted on YouTube titled below:
Title: Watch “Kate’s CLEVER TRICK To Stop Women From Flirting With William #shorts ##katemiddleton” on Your Tube
https://youtube.com/shorts/20CidLvBPSQ?si=Uju7p-RSJhfyP3P7
She and her mother devised a plot to trap Prince William into marrying her. The Royal Family was, and still is, very worried about its same which plays a significant role relating to its existence. They used public opinions to make the late Queen bow to their requests. They are now using the same trick – public opinion – in a bid to continue their parasitic existence within the Royal Family.
What is worrying now is that the three staff of the London Clinic who had seen Kate Middleton’s medical record have been under police investigation as the fuming Kate Middleton is peddling the idea they should be prosecuted for criminal offences because they knew she had an abortion at the hospital in January this year. It was not subtotal colectomy as recently asserted by Buckingham Palace. At this point, we must remember the death of the nurse Jacintha Saldanha in December 2012, who fell prey to a prank phone call and inadvertently disclosed some facts about Kate Middleton ‘s health condition.
Kate Middleton, through the media, especially her troll channels such as Murad Merali, Tisa Tells and a bunch of AI ones, are now denying the medical files the three London Clinic staff saw were true, rather they were decoy files
Another worry is that Christopher Bouzy, the American who publicly debunked Kate Middleton’s so-called cancer and preventative chemotherapy, is now under American government investigation for alleged tax evasion. In fact, many American doctors had already stated Kate Middleton having cancer and preventative chemotherapy didn’t line up with current medical practice.
Why is Kate Middleton so concerned about her “abdominal surgery” and her “chemotherapy”? Please send investigate.
Kate Middleton is going thru a divorce. She got lots of mental issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depressions, obsessive compulsive disorder – all hereditary illnesses. Psychotic issues and sensory disorders seem to run in their family – look at Kate Middleton, her brother James Middleton and her son Louis.
Why is Kate always on diet and cosmetic surgery? I have loads of questions over her translucent dress which won William. I also don’t understand why Kate’s family are enjoying themselves all the while shes🎉 fakically cancerous. Too many weird stuffs going on. Heard she had an abortion at london clinic. Baby was between Kate and Thomas Kingston. Connect all dots. Kate might have been released from royal duties to save face of the Firm.
All the stuffs the channels dedicated to promote Kate contradict each other daily. If she tries to muster up a crowd to go back to the Firm, the only losers are the supporters of a selfish cause.
People are pressing the Royal Family to let her come back which is so dangerous.
She’s alleged to have taken the £8.5million jewels, which she wore, from the Royal Family which she didn’t return.

I am a retired gold and copper exploration geologist and worked throughout Latin America, especially on the Pacific margin, for 25 years. I ran a public company for 18 years and have eaten in some of the world’s best restaurants. My wife and I have traveled throughout Europe’s wine regions on vacations centered on food and wine. We usually go out for lunch and cook locally at night. For years now I have been exploring Asian foods, particularly Thai and Chinese and in my search for recipes was introduced to your website. Since that introduction I have found your broader scope of recipes and always open your recipes in my search. I’m cooking your Hungarian Goulash as I write. I have no social media account and rarely reach out, but I want to thank you for your work. I’m a fussy cook, my grandkids call me chef— I know my stuff. Your recipes are spot on and. appreciated. I have come to label you the Australian Julia Childs. Thanks, Tom
Hi Nagi – we would love it if you and dozer would come to Newcastle and be a guest speaker at a charity event to raise money for the Homeless. I would organise accommodation and I know that Newcastle would be excited if you visited our region again. We would love that! Vanessa and Liam. X
I understand that you live in Australia (Sidney?). I live in the US, am a retired professor and in my view you are Nagic…
Nagi mentioned her favourite home coffee machine on FB quite some time ago. I would love to get the name of that machine please.
Thanking you in advance.
Donna
Hi Nagi and Dozer,
I’m new to your blog and already I love your style. Having had a precious dog who looked just like Dozer, I understand how easy they are to love
My favorite chef introduced me to you yesterday when I asked for an egg fu yong recipe. That was worth jumping up and down about. Today I made Greek Chicken and Lemon Rice. It was so good it blew me away. Thanks and I’ll try one new recipe from you every day. Blessings, Maria in South America
I hope Dozer is recovering, onwards and upwards!! Does the website have, or could it include, a “cooking mode” button that stops your screen from blanking while we follow your recipes?
The book, ordered in Victoria, has made it to us in Switzerland too 🙂
G’day Nagi
Made ya mushroom soup,it was beautiful. Will try something else next week.
Till then.
Cheers Trev x
Hello Nagi!
I’m originally from the US but now live in Melbourne. I’m going back in a month and wanted to bring a uniquely Australian gift to my friends in California.
I’d love to bring a couple copies of your recipe book for my friends who are passionate about cooking. I’d like to ask if you’d be willing to sign a few of the books for them with a brief message? I am willing to post you the books and a postage paid satchel to post back to me after you’ve signed.
Thanks for considering
my crazy request.
